Fibrobec’s SpaceKap has been at your side for 25 years!
Durable, safe and environmentally friendly, these services units allow you to work safely, store tools and equipment and attract attention everywhere you go.
Montréal, May 16, 2017 – Fibrobec is proud to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the SpaceKap, its leading commercial truck insert unit developed in collaboration with famous car designer Paul Deutschman. Popular amongst contractors and fleet managers for a quarter of a century, SpaceKap is considered an innovative solution to the traditional service truck and is environmentally friendly, in order to meet the needs of businesses of all sizes. SpaceKap units are affordable, safe, reusable and transferable from one vehicle to another, turning any van into a service vehicle or mobile workshop.
Since 1972, Fibrobec has been offering fiberglass boxes that fit all pickup brands. The Spacekap Diablo was the first product designed to meet the needs of electricians, plumbers and contractors. “Over the years, several companies have asked us for customized solutions to the needs of their industry. This is the case of the fiber optics industry, for which we have built the Diablo units, adding a work table, LED lights and electrical outlets: to allow technicians to concentrate on achieving His job, no matter how long he’s outdoors”, said Frédéric Albert, CEO of Fibrobec.
All SpaceKap units can be installed and transferred to any full-size pickup available on the market. Thus, within a few minutes you can easily install or remove the fiberglass capsule from the van, if you have to change vehicle temporarily or replace it with a newer model. Once equipped with shelves and racks, the tools and equipment are secured inside the SpaceKap and well organized to save you time and money.
For the 25th anniversary, Fibrobec will offer a new 36, 48 or 60-month SpaceKap commercial leasing program (available in Quebec only) to facilitate access for small business owners. In addition, it will launch new, even more innovative, SpaceKap service unit models by June 2017.
Each truck cap will offer these unique features and industry-leading advancements:
- Slam handles will replace standard compression handles;
- “Poplock” of the box, which is coupled to that of the truck, offered as standard on all our models and only at Fibrobec;
- Wider unit base (2.54 cm / 1 “) to increase available storage area;
- Revolutionary anchor system: adapts to all brands of trucks, without adding any additional parts, and also allows the SpaceKap to be installed on the new aluminum pickup trucks;
- Higher side door opening by 1 1/2, the largest in the industry;
- Cylinder position adjustment of the side doors, in order to define different door opening heights;
- Galvanized steel installation kit, lighter than the original wood.
The SpaceKap brand has seen its reputation increase over the past five years to win the hearts of American entrepreneurs and fleet managers, where it generated nearly half of its sales in 2015-2016. “Fibrobec has grown significantly thanks to the quality of its products and client services. Our presence continues to grow thanks to a well-organized distribution network across North America, with more than forty points of sale”, explains Fibrobec’s CEO.
SpaceKap units are designed to facilitate transfer from one vehicle to another, enabling individuals and businesses to re-use them nearly three times the normal life cycle of a van. Owners can purchase a new vehicle without having to reorganize a new box or move its contents. These fiberglass units are not only practical and versatile, but their unique design also reduces the fuel consumption of service vehicles, which consume an average of 12% less fuel than single-hulled vehicles.
